The tourism parameters of the Mongolian capital are first of all three wonderful, ancient monasteries, i.e. the GANDAN monastery with its more than 10 meter high Buddha statue, the Bogd Khan Palace, the residence of the last ruling Khan, and a number of museums and theaters.

Besides we recommend day trips to the mountain “Bogd Uul”, a sacred symbol for Mongols and a National Sanctuary, as well as an excursion to Terelj, the oldest National Sanctuary in Mongolia which is easily accessablefrom Hotel Mongolia.

Appr. 400 km from the capital you can visit the famous monastery of „Erdene Zuu“ and some stone carved heritage sites dating back to the 11th century.
